Who we are

Knoted is an iPhone reminder app. This website provides information about the app.

Operator: Martin Tutko. FrogLabs is a marketing umbrella used to promote apps; it is not the legal operator of Knoted or this website.

The Knoted app

Information you create

When you create a reminder, Knoted stores information such as:

• Reminder title
• Optional note text
• Scheduled date and time
• Time zone identifier used when the reminder was set
• Scheduling status and related local flags (for example whether a reminder is enabled, soft-deleted, or its system alarm was cancelled)

The app also stores local preference settings you choose, such as alarm sound, preview volume and ring-duration preference.

Where app data is stored

Reminder records are stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData / local store. Preference settings also stay on the device (App Storage / UserDefaults-style local preferences).

Knoted does not sync reminders through a separate cloud account or CloudKit-style live sync. If you use Apple’s iCloud Backup (or a local device backup), your on-device app data may be included in that backup according to your iPhone backup settings. Restoring a backup can restore that data to a device.

System alarms (AlarmKit)

To alert you at the chosen time, Knoted schedules a system alarm through Apple’s AlarmKit. The reminder title is provided to the system alarm presentation so the alert can show what the reminder is for. Alarm scheduling therefore involves the iOS system alarm framework on your device.

Knoted requests AlarmKit authorisation so it can schedule these alerts. You can change related system sound settings in iPhone Settings → Sounds & Haptics. Delivery can be affected by system permissions, Focus modes, device power state and Apple’s alarm limits.

Analytics, crash reporting and third-party SDKs

Knoted does not include third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.

Accounts and network services

Knoted does not require an account, does not sync reminders through a custom backend, and does not make outbound network calls beyond what Apple system frameworks require. Reminder data stays on your device, with iCloud Backup (when enabled) as the only cloud copy path described above. System frameworks such as AlarmKit still run on the device to present alerts.

Deleting reminders

You can delete reminders in the app. Deleted reminders move to Settings → Deleted reminders, where you can recover them or remove them permanently. Uninstalling the app removes the app and its local data from that device. Copies may remain in an iCloud or local backup until that backup is replaced or deleted according to your Apple ID / device backup settings.

This website

This marketing site is hosted as static files. It does not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers or third-party embeds.

Your browser may still send standard technical information to the host when you load pages (for example IP address, user agent and requested URLs) through ordinary web server or CDN logs. Those logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s normal practices.

When you contact support

If you email knoted@martintutko.com, we receive the information you include in your message (such as your email address, iPhone model, iOS version, Knoted version and a description of the issue). Please avoid sending private reminder content unless it is necessary to resolve the problem.

Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and any related follow-up.

Children

Knoted is a general utility app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Retention

Reminder data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. If iCloud Backup (or a local backup) includes the app data, that backup copy remains until the backup is overwritten or removed under your Apple backup settings. Support correspondence is kept as described above. Website host logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s practices.

Your choices

• Edit or permanently delete reminders in the app
• Deny or revoke AlarmKit permission in iOS Settings (alerts will not schedule while denied)
• Contact us to ask about personal information you have sent by email

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or website changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when a revised version is published.
